The IT Business Lead Analyst is a senior-level position responsible for liaising between business users and technologists to exchange information in a concise, logical and understandable way in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to continuous iterative exploration and investigation of business performance and other measures to gain insight and drive business planning.
What We do / The Team
FI Technology is looking to hire an experienced analyst based in Chennai. This is a global team with a client base spanning 70+ countries. This role will be within the Rates Risk Technology team.
Risk Technology is focused on delivering solutions to the Rates Trading desks. This team develops and maintains a complete suite of Risk technology solutions, for both the Rates and FX (including Derivatives) Businesses.
Responsibilities :
- This role will provide a unique opportunity to gain exposure to different asset classes in a Tier 1 investment bank.
- Manage relationships with various stakeholders (Desk Heads, Trader, Business managers, Quants, Market Risk, Finance, Other technology teams)
- Work with the Trading Businesses and other teams to deliver large-scale projects
- Provide business knowledge-based leadership to the Rates Risk Technology team in Asia
- Act as Rates Risk technology for SME for valuations, risk and P&L etc. to senior stakeholders and / or other team members
- Develop deep understanding about Rates Risk technology systems and the ecosystem around them
- Define business requirements, functional specification and technical specifications
- Build and roll out new business products in the Risk Management systems
- Drive implementation of market data needs from trading desk for new and existing products
- Drive adoption of new quant models including validation of Risk valuations
- Provide input during development and implementation phases, including formulation and definition of systems scope, objectives and necessary system enhancements for complex, high-impact projects
- Identify and communicate risks and impacts and propose risk mitigation options, considering business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment
- Consult with business clients to determine system functional specifications and partner with multiple management teams and other units to meet organizational objectives
- Evaluate new IT developments and evolving business requirements and recommend appropriate systems alternatives and / or enhancements to current systems by analyzing business processes, systems and industry standards
- Provide in-depth and sophisticated analyses with interpretive thinking to define problems, develop innovative solutions and influence strategic functional decisions
- Supervise day-to-day staff management issues, including resource management, work allocation, mentoring / coaching and other duties and functions as assigned
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications :
10+ years in Applications Development and Management role within the Rates domain5+ years of onsite experience in an investment bank located in a large trading hubUnderstanding of interest rate derivatives products and their pricing conceptsExperience in Java and / or python and SQL, with good understanding of IT fundamentals within an investment bankProficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint) with extensive experience using Excel for data analysisExperience with all phases of Software Development Life CycleComprehensive knowledge of the principles of business analysisDemonstrated capability to develop and maintain effective work relationships with front-office stakeholdersProven ability to conduct research / analysis, organize findings and build plansKnowledge of financial markets and Risk management is essentialProven people management experienceDemonstrated leadership skillsKnowledge of industry practices and standardsConsistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communicationAny Beneficial / Nice to have skills and experience :
