Job description

Key Responsibilities :

  • Design, develop, and maintain custom GIS applications and web-based mapping solutions.
  • Analyze user requirements to develop and optimize geospatial workflows and tools.
  • Integrate GIS applications with various enterprise systems and APIs.
  • Develop scripts and tools for data automation, analysis, and processing (Python / ArcPy).
  • Perform spatial data modeling, geoprocessing, and complex spatial analysis.
  • Maintain and optimize spatial databases (e.g., PostGIS, SQL Server with spatial extensions).
  • Create interactive maps, dashboards, and visualizations using tools such as ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, or Mapbox.
  • Conduct performance tuning, testing, and documentation of GIS solutions.
  • Provide support and troubleshooting for GIS-related issues and enhancements.
  • Stay updated with emerging GIS technologies, tools, and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in GIS, Computer Science, Geography, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in GIS development.
  • Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS Suite (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online).
  • Must have experience in migrating Geocortex Essentials and custom HTML 5 web applications, related workflows and controls into ESRI’s JavaScript API version 4.
  • Must have experience working in VertiGIS Studio Suite of tools and ESRI Experience Builder
  • Strong programming skills in Python , JavaScript (Leaflet / ArcGIS API for JS) , or .NET for GIS applications.
  • Experience with spatial databases : PostGIS, SQL Server, Oracle Spatial.
  • Hands-on experience with FME , GDAL , or other ETL / data transformation tools.
  • Knowledge of web development frameworks and APIs (REST / SOAP).
  • Experience integrating GIS with other enterprise systems (ERP, CRM).
  • Familiarity with open-source GIS platforms (QGIS, GeoServer, MapServer) is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

    • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Certifications in GIS (e.g., Esri Technical Certification).
  • Experience working with cloud GIS platforms (e.g., ArcGIS Enterprise on AWS / Azure).
  • Familiarity with Agile / Scrum methodologies.
