P&C Insurance Team Lead

Summary

We are seeking an experienced P&C Insurance Team Lead to manage a team and oversee all relevant technical / operational processing activities. The successful candidate will provide direct assistance to underwriting teams as needed, while also handling people management, performance appraisals, and client interaction.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the performance of a team of Claims adjusters and provide timely feedback
  • Conduct employee performance reviews and assist with professional development
  • Set objectives and manage the team's progression
  • Coordinate with internal customers and maintain the flow of work
  • Ensure SLA adherence and prepare reporting packs for senior management and stakeholders
  • Identify issues and implement remedial action, including staff training
  • Identify and implement opportunities for streamlining claims activity
  • Ensure Standard Operating Procedures and User Guides reflect current procedures

Requirements

Requirements :

  • Graduate or Postgraduate degree with 7+ years of experience in claim processing
  • Experience in dealing with international clients (preferred)
  • Must have Property and Casualty (P&C) Insurance experience
  • Should have claims adjudication and adjusting experience
  • Experience in end-to-end claims processing
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a team handling role
  • Preferably CPCU or equivalent insurance designation
  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong people management skills
  • Sound knowledge of property and casualty underwriting
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of the insurance market
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Basic knowledge of regulatory and legal compliance issues
  • Excellent numeric, analytical, and written skills
  • Effective prioritization and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Requirements

    Skills and Competencies : Effective communication skills Strong people management skills Sound knowledge of property and casualty underwriting Commercial awareness, with a knowledge of the insurance market and external changes which would impact on our business Problem Solving - Ability to find solutions and guide teams in difficult and complex situations Decision Making - Ability to come up with logical options to facilitate teams to take a decision Basic knowledge of regulatory and legal compliance issues Excellent numeric, analytical and written skills Effective prioritization and organizational skills Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Primary Responsibilities : Monitor the performance of a team of Claims adjusters and provide timely feedback. Should have experience in end to end claims, and experienced in claims adjudication and adjusting. Conduct employee performance review Assist with professional development of the team Set objectives and manage the progression of the team towards these Coordination with Internal Customers like Underwriting Ops Team, Process Excellence team,etc. and Streamline and maintain the flow of work SLA adherence Preparation and review of reporting packs , sr. management and stakeholders Additional Responsibilities : Ensure appropriate performance metrics in place and that these are accurately reported and adhered to. Identify issues and implement appropriate remedial action including training of new and existing staff Identify and implement opportunities for streamlining Claims. activity Ensure Standard Operating Procedures and User Guides accurately reflect current procedures Help to facilitate and monitor new activities that are transitioned to the service provider Assist with the investigation and resolution of any data quality issues that are raised Assist with the testing and roll out of new IT initiatives
