About the Role and Requirement :
- Experience in the construction field - in major and mega projects; Working for large organizations
- Strong knowledge in Excel; Working experience with SAP or other ERM system dealing with budget control
- Prepare various budget funding requests at different stages of the project, ensuring completeness and consistency of format as may be directed by corporate management from time-to-time
- Ensure alignment of project scope and funding at all stages of the project; Break out project estimates as appropriate to reflect the project execution strategy
- Prepare detailed commitment, expenditure and cumulative liability curves for management review and approval. Monitor and report actual status against same on a regular basis
- Review and approve all proposed project commitments, ensuring comparison with estimated “should-cost”. Identify and explain any variances for management approval.
- Track and monitor all project commitments, ensuring correct cost coding, currency translation etc…
- Attend project review, co-ordination and report-out meetings and take a proactive role identification and highlighting (a) deviations from agreed project scope and (b) potential cost savings
- Participate in and help drive value engineering exercises from time-to-time as agreed with program management
- Ensure all deviations from agreed project scope (or other changed conditions) are expeditiously processed as “proposed changes / construction changes of scope”, so that they may be presented to management for additional funding (or otherwise dispensed with)
- Develop monthly project cost reports, including details of all budgets, commitments, expenditures, yet-to-buys and forecasts. Include details of all variances between budget and current forecast, and variances from previous to current forecast
- Working with the project scheduler, QS, contracts, and other project management team members, ensure that all potential claims are highlighted and addressed on an ongoing basis. Ensure incorporation of same in monthly project cost reports.
