The Refrigeration & Air-Compressor Expert is responsible for the design, operation, and maintenance of industrial refrigeration and compressed air systems that support food and beverage manufacturing processes. This role ensures optimal performance, energy efficiency, and compliance with safety and quality standards across utility infrastructure.
About the Role
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee installation, commissioning, and maintenance of refrigeration systems (ammonia, Freon, CO₂) and air compressors (centrifugal, rotary screw, reciprocating).
- Monitor system performance and conduct diagnostics to prevent downtime and ensure consistent cooling and air supply.
- Optimize energy consumption and implement improvements in system efficiency and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, environmental, and occupational health regulations.
- Maintain documentation including P&IDs, SOPs, maintenance logs, and audit records.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to align utility operations with manufacturing needs.
- Manage vendor relationships for equipment servicing, spare parts, and upgrades.
- Support capital projects involving cold storage, HVAC, and pneumatic systems.
Qualifications
Education : Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Refrigeration, or Industrial EngineeringExperience : 5–10 years in refrigeration and compressed air systems within food, beverage, or FMCG manufacturingTools : Familiarity with SCADA / BMS systems, pressure and temperature monitoring tools, and CMMS platformsCertifications : FSSAI, ISO 50001, or relevant safety / environmental certifications preferredRequired Skills
Strong troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and energy optimization skills;knowledge of HACCP and GMP standards is a plus
