Job description

We are seeking an exceptionally talented and highly motivated 3D Texture Artist with a passion for detail and artistic excellence. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for visual elements, strong technical proficiency in relevant software, and the ability to create high-quality textures for 3D models. This role requires collaboration with creative teams and a commitment to maintaining project deadlines.

Essential Functions :

  • Possess exceptional texture creation ability , with hand-painted textures being a significant plus.
  • Demonstrate a strong analytic eye for volumes, shapes, proportions, detail distribution, color, and materials composition .
  • Able to work effectively from photo reference or concept art when available, and also capable of providing their own creative input.
  • Exhibit an intuitive understanding of 3D visualization and the ability to accurately sense scale and material properties.
  • Work in close collaboration with creative designers to achieve artistic and project goals.
  • Successfully maintain project deadlines , ensuring timely delivery of textures.
  • Be able to provide guidance to other texture artists , fostering team growth and quality.
  • Stay updated on design and 3D texture technology by attending industry tradeshows and conducting research.

Required Qualifiers :

  • Highly proficient in Maya & Photoshop .
  • Experience with Bodypaint & ZBrush is highly recommended.
  • Solid knowledge of traditional texturing techniques .
  • Highly creative , as well as possessing strong technical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of human anatomy, materials, and manufacturing principles is a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience in creating assets within a Physically Based Rendering / Shader system .
  • Possess strong traditional art or crafting skills .
  • Excellent communication skills , both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrates a strong passion for detail, quality, and the pursuit of artistic excellence .
  • Highly self-motivated and self-directed , capable of working independently.
