Data Science Lead

Position Summary :

The Data Scientist Lead will spearhead the data science initiatives, ensuring the successful establishment and operation of data science projects. This role involves strategic leadership, hands-on technical expertise, and the ability to drive business value through data-driven insights. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders, to develop and implement data science solutions that align with the company's strategic goals.

Job Responsibilities :

Leadership and Strategy :

o Establish and communicate the data science vision and strategy.

o Lead and manage the data science team, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.

o Work with senior leadership to integrate data science initiatives into the broader business strategy.

Project Management :

o Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of data science projects.

o Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and deliver measurable business value.

o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and success criteria.

Technical Expertise :

o Develop and implement advanced machine learning, statistical, and ensemble methods to solve complex business problems.

o Perform in-depth exploratory data analysis and feature engineering.

o Create and deploy predictive models and data-driven solutions.

Data Governance and Management :

o Establish data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality, security, and compliance.

o Work with data engineers to design and maintain robust data pipelines and infrastructure.

o Ensure the ethical use of data and AI, adhering to industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

Innovation and Research :

o Stay current with the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and data science.

o Conduct hands-on research and case studies on emerging technologies and methodologies.

o Identify opportunities to apply innovative data science techniques to drive business growth.

Communication and Collaboration :

o Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

o Develop effective data visualizations and reports to present insights and recommendations.

Experience and Abilities :

Proven track record of leading and delivering successful data science projects.

Strong quantitative skills in probability, statistics, algorithms, and optimization methods.

Expertise in machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn.

Experience with big data technologies like Apache Spark and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL.

Strong knowledge of MLOps best practices and agile software development methodologies.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.

Education :

BS, MS, or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
