About the Role
India1 Payments is driving financial inclusion across semi-urban and rural India through innovative financial services. We're looking for a strategic and result oriented Business Head – New Initiatives to spearhead our next phase of growth across emerging verticals such as AePS, DMT, CMS, BBPS, and other financial products.
This is a leadership role with full P&L ownership , responsible for building and scaling this new business from the ground up, driving partnerships, and leading high-impact teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Own P&L for new business vertical offering financial services focused on rural and semi-urban markets.
- Develop strategic partnerships with banks, fintechs, ecosystem players, and technology providers.
- Define and execute distribution strategies across franchisee, digital, and B2B channels.
- Collaborate with product, tech, operations, and marketing teams to design customer journeys, pricing models, and GTM plans.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performance team fostering innovation, agility, and ownership.
- Work closely with senior leadership and the board on strategy, progress, and key decisions.
- Ensure regulatory and compliance adherence in coordination with finance, legal, and risk teams.

Entrepreneurial mindset with proven experience in building businesses from 0→1 and scaling from 1→10.Deep understanding of the financial services, fintech, or allied sectors.Strong analytical, commercial, and strategic thinking abilities.Exceptional stakeholder management and negotiation skills.Execution-focused leader comfortable with ambiguity and rapid change.Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive alignment.Qualifications & Experience
MBA / Postgraduate in Business, Finance, or related discipline (preferred).12+ years of experience with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role building or scaling a business line.Prior experience in fintech, banking, NBFC, or digital platform businesses preferred.Skills Required
