Role Summary
This role strengthens the commercial backbone of the Finance team. The person brings hands-on sourcing and procurement experience but works directly under Finance to manage vendor commercials, validate cost structures, maintain documentation, and keep every transaction compliant, trackable, and value-driven. The job is part numbers, part negotiation, part governance.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Operations
- Review vendor quotations, rate cards, cost sheets, and negotiate for cost-effective outcomes.
- Prepare and maintain comparative statements, commercial evaluations, and approval notes.
- Validate procurement requirements shared by project teams and ensure alignment with approved budgets.
- Support creation of POs, Work Orders, and contract amendments with complete commercial clarity.
Vendor & Contract Management
Maintain vendor master data, compliance documents, and contract validity trackers.Coordinate vendor onboarding with Finance (banking, GST, PAN, compliance checks).Track service delivery, invoice submissions, payment timelines, and escalations.Assist in drafting and reviewing basic commercial terms in agreements.Financial Coordination
Work closely with Finance to map actual spends vs. budgets, highlight variances, and maintain audit-ready records.Reconcile PO values, delivery schedules, and invoices to ensure error-free processing.Maintain trackers for procurements, renewals, payment cycles, and vendor SLAs.Process & Governance
Drive adherence to internal procurement and commercial policies.Maintain transparent documentation for all commercial files for audits.Identify cost leaks, incorrect billing, vendor duplication, or scope mismatches early.Required Experience & Skills
14 years in procurement, sourcing, or commercial operations.Strong grip on vendor negotiations, cost comparison, and documentation.Comfortable with numbers, Excel / Sheets, basic financial concepts, and PO-invoice cycles.Ability to read and interpret basic commercial clauses in contracts.Fast, organized, and detail-driven — someone who spots inconsistencies before others do.
