Role Description
The Process Engineer for the SiC Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) system is responsible for daily operation, monitoring, and optimization of SiC epitaxy reactors to ensure consistent production quality, yield, and throughput. This role supports manufacturing operations through process control, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of CVD systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's (B.Sc., BTech or relevant) / Masters (B.Sc., B.Tech or relevant) / Ph.D degree in Chemical or Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related discipline.
- 1–3 years of hands-on experience in semiconductor production or epitaxy operations (CVD system operation, SiC experience preferred).
- Familiarity with CVD reactor operation, process control systems, and gas handling safety.
- Strong understanding of computer operations, including process control software, data logging systems, and MS Office tools.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and teamwork in a cleanroom production environment.
- Willingness to work in rotating shifts if required by production schedules.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Reactor Operation & Monitoring :
Operate SiC CVD reactors following established process recipes and standard operating procedures (SOPs).Monitor reactor parameters, growth profiles, and system alarms to ensure stable operation.Perform routine start-up, shutdown, and conditioning of reactors according to production schedules.2. Process Control & Stability :
Maintain process parameters within defined control limits to achieve consistent epitaxial layer quality.Record and analyse run data to detect trends or abnormalities affecting yield or uniformity.Support periodic process calibration and qualification activities.3. Production Support & Troubleshooting
Respond promptly to process deviations or equipment issues during production runsCollaborate with equipment and maintenance teams to resolve reactor performance issues.Perform root-cause analysis on yield loss, contamination, or defect-related issues.4. Quality & Yield Management :
Monitor wafer quality metrics and support inline and post-process inspections to ensure compliance with product specifications.Participate in yield improvement and defect reduction projects using structured problem-solving methods.5. Process Documentation & Reporting :
Maintain accurate logs of process runs, parameter adjustments, and system conditions.Prepare daily / weekly production reports summarizing performance, issues, and corrective actions.Update and maintain process documentation, SOPs, and safety checklists.6. Equipment & Maintenance Support :
Support preventive maintenance and chamber cleaning activities in coordination with equipment engineers.Verify equipment condition before and after maintenance or part replacement.Assist in equipment qualification and recipe validation after maintenance or upgrades.7. Safety & Compliance :
Follow all safety protocols related to high-temperature operations, toxic gases, and cleanroom environments.Participate in safety training, risk assessments, and emergency response drills.Ensure compliance with company EHS standards and local regulations.Notes :
