We’re Hiring : InDesign JavaScript Developer (Editorial Production Automation Engineer)

Employment Type : Contract (6 Months)
Key Responsibilities
- Structure editorial content and develop product / authoring templates
- Create scripts and programs to automate content flow into templates
- Design, develop, and maintain automation tools for Adobe InDesign using ExtendScript, Adobe UXP , and related technologies
- Automate production processes including :
- InDesign (INDD) file creation
- Batch image manipulation and optimization
- Generation of HTML, JSON, and XML outputs
- Integration of editorial content with structured data formats
- Collaborate with editorial, design, and production teams to identify automation opportunities
- Implement and support structured content workflows (DITA XML or similar frameworks)
- Enable seamless data exchange between InDesign, XML, and other content systems
- Ensure smooth integration of automation tools into existing production pipelines
- Provide technical documentation, training, and ongoing support
- Stay current with Adobe technologies and automation trends
- Assist with exploratory projects using Node.js, Python , and other tools
Required Skills & Experience
4+ years of experience in editorial or production automationExpert-level knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Adobe Creative SuiteStrong expertise in ExtendScript for InDesign automationProficiency in XML (structured and semi-structured data)Experience automating editorial and production workflowsStrong problem-solving skills with a production-focused mindsetNice to Have :
