Role Overview :

We are looking for a Senior UFT (Unified Functional Testing) Engineer to join our QA automation team. This is a contract-based role with a hybrid working model in our Hyderabad ODC. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, executing, and maintaining robust automated test suites using UFT, ensuring software quality and system reliability across web and desktop applications.

Key Responsibilities :

Design and develop automated test scripts using UFT (Unified Functional Testing).
Build, maintain, and enhance automation frameworks that support both web and desktop application testing.
Perform test planning, test execution, and bug tracking across releases.
Analyze automation test results, identify defects, and collaborate with developers for resolution.
Participate in code reviews, QA strategy planning, and automation architecture decisions.
Work closely with cross-functional teams including development, product, and business stakeholders to ensure test coverage and quality standards.
Lead or contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and best practices in test automation.
Ensure reusability, maintainability, and scalability of automated tests.
Support regression testing and test data management for complex scenarios.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in UFT / QTP for test automation.

Strong expertise in VBScript for writing automation scripts.

Solid understanding of test automation frameworks, including modular, data-driven, and keyword-driven approaches.

Experience in test case design, scripting, execution, and maintenance for functional and regression test suites.

Proficient in defect lifecycle management, using tools like HP ALM, JIRA, or similar.

Good understanding of SDLC and STLC processes, with prior experience in Agile / Scrum environments.

Excellent debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.

ISTQB or other QA / testing certifications are a plus.

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Good to Have :

Experience integrating UFT with CI / CD tools like Jenkins.

Familiarity with API testing and database validations.

Exposure to performance testing tools or other automation tools (e.g., Selenium) is a plus.

Working knowledge of version control tools like Git.
