Director – University Industry Interaction & Cell (UIIC)
Reports To : Vice Chancellor
Position Objective :
To strategically lead the university’s
industry partnerships, MOUs, and incubation initiatives
by fostering strong academia–industry linkages, enabling innovation-driven entrepreneurship, and ensuring impactful collaborations that contribute to institutional growth, student development, and national innovation goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Industry Collaborations & MOUs
Identify and develop
partnerships with industries, corporates, PSUs, NGOs, and government agencies .
Draft, review, and execute
MOUs, contracts, and collaboration agreements
aligned with statutory and accreditation requirements.
Monitor and evaluate the
implementation of MOUs
for measurable outcomes (research projects, internships, placements, curriculum updates).
Maintain a
digital repository and dashboard
for tracking all active MOUs, review cycles, and impact reports.
2. Academia–Industry Engagement
Organize
industry expert talks, workshops, conclaves, and consultancy projects .
Facilitate
joint research and innovation projects
with industry and faculty.
Develop
industry-oriented certification programs, executive education, and skill development modules .
Align industry inputs to
curriculum development and employability enhancement .
3. Nest-Incubation & Innovation Center Leadership
Establish and manage the
University Nest Incubation / Innovation Center
for students, alumni, and faculty.
Design and oversee the
end-to-end incubation lifecycle
(idea scouting, evaluation, mentoring, prototyping, funding).
Secure
external grants, CSR contributions, and government funding (DST, DBT, MSME, Startup India, Atal Innovation Mission, etc.) .
Build and maintain a
mentor, investor, and corporate accelerator network .
Promote
IPR, patent filing, and commercialization
through incubation support.
Track
success metrics
(startups formed, funds raised, patents filed, jobs created).
4. Strategic Networking & Representation
Represent the university in
industry associations, chambers of commerce, innovation councils, and startup forums .
Establish
international collaborations
with universities and multinational industries.
Engage
alumni entrepreneurs, investors, and industry leaders
as advisors, mentors, and collaborators.
5. Reporting & Documentation
Prepare
quarterly and annual reports
on collaborations, MOUs, incubation progress, and innovation outputs.
Document and present
case studies, success stories, and best practices
for NAAC, NBA, NIRF, UGC, and other accreditation bodies.
Provide strategic recommendations to leadership based on
industry trends and innovation opportunities .
