Lam Research India team is organized into three major areas of responsibility : Hardware, Software, and Operations. One of the major functional group of this entity is LIGHT (Lam India Global Hardware Technology). The LIGHT group, designs subassemblies and subsystems for Lam’s product lines, providing innovation for the next-generation products, providing improvements in cost and reliability

There is an opening for the role of Mechanical Engineer, Sr for GFO team within Customer Support Business Group (CSBG) of LIGHT organization. This position will be based out of Bangalore and will closely be working with the engineering & cross functional teams across global regions.

CSBG mainly focuses on delivering value to customers throughout the product lifecycle by providing Spares, Upgrades, and services to maximize the value of customer capital assets.

What You’ll Do

• Design, development, and implementation of custom medium complex mechanical tooling, fixturing to enable handling, assembly and / or disassembly of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies in a semi equipment.
• Participate in conceptualization, modeling, analysis, development, documentation, and test / validation of fixtures
• Design parts using metals, ceramics, quartz, plastics, with advanced coatings / plating.
• Ensures documentation is consistent with SEMI, Lam and other standards as applicable (ANSI, DIN etc.)
• Proficient in GD&T- demonstrates knowledge and ability to apply.
• Develops and presents reports / presentations of excellent quality that communicate design intent, analysis, and validation.
• Close interactions with suppliers and other Lam internal departments to ensure high quality, well tested and cost optimized solutions.
• Prepares all required deliverables requested by product development plan (e.g., FMEA, technical specifications, risk analysis, test specifications, design review presentations)

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer / supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer / supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
