We are seeking a Section Manager to provide managerial direction and leadership for a portion of the NIA (Network & Infrastructure Automation) team within the Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Global Practice. This role is crucial for fostering the growth of the team by focusing on mentorship, talent retention, and the continuous improvement of workflows. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in engineering design and project management, along with a strong commitment to company values.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Mentorship : Act as a key people manager, providing training, mentorship, and career development to staff. Lead the performance appraisal process and foster a positive work environment to attract and retain top talent.
- Recruitment & Retention : Assist in recruiting top talent and driving engagement initiatives to ensure staff retention. Identify skill set gaps and address them through training or targeted hiring.
- Project & Resource Management : Provide senior-level input and guidance on projects. Coordinate project schedules and resource needs based on forecasting. Monitor staff utilization and ensure the team meets all T&D objectives.
- Quality & Process Improvement : Champion a culture of quality and continuous improvement. Ensure all Quality Manual System (QMS) requirements are followed. Advance and develop tools and workflows to increase the efficiency of designs and project execution.
- Operational Oversight : Review and approve timecards, monitor project budgets and schedules, and ensure the team completes all assigned training.
- Safety & Ethics : Advocate for safety, diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Promote a strong work-life balance and ensure team members uphold ethical standards.
Required Qualifications
Education : A Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent from a reputed institute is required.Experience : A minimum of 8 years of overall experience , with at least 2 years of leadership experience in managing large teams.Skills :Excellent written and verbal communication skills .Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to present complex information effectively.Proven technical ability in engineering design and project management.The ability to adapt to changes, make quick decisions, and foster innovation.Working knowledge of substation communication networks and industrial automation is preferred.Commitment : The chosen candidate is expected to commit at least 2 years to the role and assist in onboarding their replacement.Travel : Must be ready to travel to both domestic and international locations as required.Skills Required
