Senior Finance Manager - Kenyan Operations

Position : Finance Head

Job Location : Nairobi, Kenya

Reporting to Director .

No of Direct Reports : 5 to 6 people direct reports .

Role Overview :

The Head of Finance will lead and manage the entire finance function of the company, providing strategic financial direction, ensuring strong financial governance, and supporting business growth. This role requires a highly experienced finance leader who has managed end-to-end financial operations in a manufacturing environment, preferably within plastics or related industries.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Financial Strategy & Leadership

• Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Advise the Director and senior leadership on financial implications, risks, and performance improvement opportunities.
• Provide financial insights to support decision-making, expansion plans, and cost optimization.

2. Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning

prepare variance analysis and actionable insights.

3. Financial Operations Management

4. Costing & Manufacturing Finance

5. Compliance, Audit & Taxation

6. Banking, Treasury & Cash Flow

7. MIS & Reporting

8. Team Leadership & Development

Qualification & Experience :

Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).

Experience :

10–12 years of progressive experience in finance, including at least 4–5 years in a leadership role.

Experience in manufacturing , preferably plastics or similar sectors.

Strong knowledge of accounting standards, tax laws, ERP systems , and best-in-class financial practices.

Proven track record in costing, budgeting, financial analysis, and team leadership .

Skills :

Strategic thinking with strong business acumen.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Strong leadership and people management skills.

Proficiency in ERP / financial systems and advanced Excel.

High integrity, ownership, and professional ethics.

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
