Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to take on the role of Marine Safety Officer.

The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring health, safety, security, cybersecurity and pollution prevention in accordance with ISM Code Ch.4 and MSC-MEPC 7 / Circ.5.

This includes providing shore-based support and resources as per ISM Code, ensuring duties are performed in accordance with quality, health, safety, environmental, cybersecurity and ethics policies, and proposing a continuous performance improvement plan.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must have previous experience as a Marine Safety Officer and a maritime background.

A strong understanding of ISM, MLC, ISPS and ISO certification is essential, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

You should also be proficient in dedicated software used for internal audits and reporting.

ISM Certification and Audits : Maintain up-to-date ISM certification for the company under assigned flags, plan, implement and follow-up internal audits for head-office, subsidiaries and agencies.

Vessel Supervision : Supervise implementation of ISM, MLC, ISPS and ISO certification on vessels, plan ISM, MLC, ISPS and ISO internal and external audits, implement Ship Security Plan and analyze vessel reports.
