Job Title : IT Technician

Department : IT & Systems

Company : Gursimar Pharma Pvt. Ltd.

Location : [Factory / Corporate Office – Ludhiana]

  • Reporting To : Managing Director

Job Purpose

To ensure the smooth functioning, maintenance, and security of all IT and network systems across the pharmaceutical manufacturing facility, including servers, firewalls, end-user systems, and connected infrastructure, in line with operational and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Network & Firewall Management

  • Install, configure, and maintain network infrastructure including switches, routers, access points, and fiber / Cat6 cabling.
  • Monitor and maintain firewall systems (e.g., Sophos, Fortigate, Cisco, or equivalent).
  • Implement and enforce access policies, VPN configurations, and content filtering under supervision.
  • Support VLAN configurations for segregated plant networks (Admin, QA / QC, Production, Surveillance, ERP).
  • Perform regular log checks and coordinate with vendors for security updates and troubleshooting.

    • 2. System Installation & Operating Systems

  • Install, configure, and update operating systems (Windows 10 / 11, Windows Server, and Linux).
  • Manage user profiles, access rights, and local security settings.
  • Apply OS-level patches, antivirus updates, and maintain system images for quick recovery.
  • Assist in system formatting, partitioning, OS reinstalls, and peripheral driver management.

    • 3. Hardware & Equipment Maintenance

  • Assemble, maintain, and troubleshoot PCs, printers, scanners, and networked devices.
  • Maintain and support NVRs, IP cameras, biometric attendance systems, intercoms, and IP-based announcement systems.
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance and maintain spares inventory.

    • 4. Data Backup & Compliance Support

  • Manage scheduled backups on NAS, external drives, and cloud repositories.
  • Verify integrity of backup data and maintain version control logs.
  • Support IT-related documentation (asset register, IP address log, validation records).
  • Assist during audits (internal, WHO GMP, Schedule M) to demonstrate IT data integrity controls.

    • 5. User & Application Support

  • Provide first-level support to users for system, email, or ERP access issues.
  • Install and troubleshoot productivity applications (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, etc.).
  • Coordinate with ERP and automation vendors for issue escalation and resolution.

    • Job Specifications

    Education :

  • Diploma / B.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Electronics.

    • Experience :

  • 2–5 years of experience in IT infrastructure support, preferably in manufacturing or regulated environments.

    • Technical Competencies :

  • Hands-on experience with :
  • LAN / WAN, IP configuration, and network diagnostics tools.
  • Firewall configuration and rule management.
  • Windows OS, Windows Server, and basic Linux command-line operations.
  • CCTV / NVR setup, crimping, patch panel, and rack organization.
  • Data backup and restoration methods (NAS, RAID, external drives).
  • Knowledge of IT asset management, system imaging, and antivirus administration.

    • Behavioral Competencies :

  • Strong documentation discipline and adherence to SOPs.
  • High confidentiality in handling access credentials and data.
  • Team coordination ability across departments and vendors.
  • Proactive maintenance and quick response to breakdowns.

    • Work Conditions

  • Factory-based role covering office, production, laboratory, warehouse, and utilities areas.
  • Extended hours or off-shift presence may be required during installations or validation phases.

    • Performance Indicators

  • Network and firewall uptime.
  • OS update and patch compliance rate.
  • Backup integrity and restoration verification.
  • Response time to user support requests.
  • Audit readiness and documentation accuracy.

    • Salary

  • Upto 3.6 Lakh CTC
