Job Description – Quality Analyst (Radiology QA Specialist)

Department : Clinical Operations / Quality

Location : Remote / On-site (as required)

Reports To : Quality Manager / Clinical Director

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Analyst (Radiology QA Specialist) to work closely with our team of radiologists to ensure continuous improvement in diagnostic accuracy, reporting quality, and clinical excellence. The ideal candidate will have a strong radiology background—preferably a Master’s in Radiology with experience working directly with radiologists or within a clinical imaging environment.

This role involves analyzing radiologist Quality Assurance (QA) cases, coordinating feedback, identifying trends, tracking errors, preparing educational content, and helping implement corrective measures to improve clinical performance. The position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for quality-driven patient care.

Key Responsibilities

1. Radiologist QA Review & Analysis

  • Review and analyze QA cases received from clients, radiologists, and internal quality teams.
  • Compare initial and final reads to identify discrepancies, missed findings, and reporting gaps.
  • Document the nature of QA issues, contributing factors, and severity levels.

2. Feedback & Corrective Action Coordination

  • Work directly with radiologists to review each QA case in detail.
  • Collect additional clinical information or reasoning from radiologists regarding missed findings or discrepancies.
  • Assist radiologists in understanding the root cause of errors and help establish corrective action plans.
  • Follow up to ensure corrective steps are implemented consistently.
  • 3. Trend Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual QA data to identify patterns or recurring issues.
  • Generate detailed dashboards and reports highlighting trends in accuracy, modality-wise performance, repeat findings, and areas needing improvement.
  • Track productivity vs. quality correlations.
  • 4. Case Collection & Academic Support

  • Collect interesting, complex, or educational cases flagged during QA reviews.
  • Collaborate with radiologists to compile such cases into structured learning material.
  • Maintain an indexed repository of cases for training and continuous improvement.
  • 5. Presentation & Training Material Development

  • Prepare monthly QA presentations showcasing key cases, trends, improvements, and recommendations.
  • Create targeted training modules for radiologists and technologists based on QA findings.
  • Support onboarding training for new radiologists with QA insights and past learnings.
  • 6. Process Improvement & Documentation

  • Recommend improvements to QA workflows, logging systems, and reporting formats.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of QA decisions, communications, and follow-ups.
  • Ensure all processes comply with internal quality standards and client expectations.
  • 7. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Coordinate with Clinical Coordinators, Operations, and Tech Teams to resolve documentation gaps or technologist-related errors.
  • Participate in quality meetings and support leadership in developing quality policies.
  • Required Qualifications :

  • Master’s in Radiology (M.Sc. / Equivalent).
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience working in a radiology department, imaging center, or teleradiology setup.
  • Strong understanding of radiology modalities (X-ray, CT, MRI, US).
  • Familiarity with QA processes, discrepancy classification, and reporting workflows.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage confidently with senior radiologists.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation abilities.
  • Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with PACS / RIS systems.
  • Ability to create presentations (PowerPoint) with strong visual clarity.
  • Basic knowledge of Excel, data analysis, or BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
