Data Migration Specialist

As a Data Migration Specialist, you will be responsible for securely and accurately transferring data from legacy ERP systems to Deltek Vantagepoint. This role requires strong Microsoft SQL skills and a deep understanding of data structures, relationships, and strategy. You will work closely with the project team to plan, manage, and execute data migration projects.

Responsibilities :

Collaborate with project teams to determine data migration requirements.

Understand and map data structures to ensure accurate data transfer.

Perform data analysis on legacy systems.

Develop and implement migration scripts and procedures.

Thoroughly test the migration process.

Review and assess data to identify potential issues.

Reconcile data between legacy systems and migrated data.

Execute data migration in a production environment.

Collaborate with Operations to design, build, and customize reports using Microsoft Visual Studio.

Create workflows in Deltek Vantagepoint.

Research and develop new technologies and tools related to Deltek Vantagepoint.

Provide ongoing technical support and troubleshooting assistance.

Serve as a subject matter expert on Deltek Vantagepoint.

Qualifications :

Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading into Deltek Vision / Vantagepoint.

Experience with relational databases, including tables, views, queries, T-SQL, and stored procedures.

Ability to develop complex queries and stored procedures using SQL for Deltek Vision / Vantagepoint workflows and custom reports.

Thorough understanding of database systems and data migration techniques.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent troubleshooting abilities.

Ability to work collaboratively with project teams.

Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.

Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Understanding of data usage and implications for data migration.

Experience in developing best practices, processes, and standards for data migration activities.

Experience in data mapping between legacy systems and Deltek Vision / Vantagepoint.

Experience in data extraction and cleansing.

Experience working with ERP systems (Deltek Vision / Vantagepoint) and understanding their data structures.

Knowledge of accounting principles.

5+ years of development experience with Microsoft SQL Server.

Experience in professional services is preferred but not required.

Proficiency in Deltek Vision / Vantagepoint is required.
