Fire and Explosion Prevention. Storage and handling of hazardous chemicals.
Responsibilities
- Fire prevention measures.
- Design and operation of fire-safe equipment.
- Hazard identification and risk assessment techniques (PHA, HAZOP, RCA, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Safety Integrity Levels (SIL).
- Emergency Preparedness and Response.
- Designing and managing emergency response plans for fire, chemical spills, and toxic gas leaks.
- Conducting fire drills, evacuation protocols, and management of fire crew and ERT teams.
- Managing emergency equipment such as fire suppression systems, gas detectors, and maintaining inventories of personal protective equipment (PPE), firefighting and safety appliances.
- Keeping fire and safety appliances in working condition i.e. safety shower, breathing air supply, sprinkler systems, alarm systems, fire extinguishers, MCP, Fire hydrant and monitors, Fire water pumps etc.
- Periodical review of applicable statutory compliance i.e. ROR and i.e. Factories, Petroleum, SMPV, Gas cylinder Rule, GFR, CWC, Act, National and international and other fire safety code / standards.
- Ensure compliance and liaison with Regulatory authorities.
