The Pre-Primary Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, promoting their physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development. The role involves planning, organizing, and executing age-appropriate activities and lessons that encourage creativity, exploration, and learning.
Key Responsibilities :
Plan and Deliver Lessons :
Create and implement lesson plans that focus on foundational skills such as language, literacy, numeracy, and basic science.
Facilitate Activities :
Organize activities that foster social skills, emotional well-being, and physical development, such as storytelling, music, arts and crafts, and outdoor play.
Child Assessment :
Observe and assess the development and progress of each child, maintaining records and communicating with parents about their child’s growth and learning.
Classroom Management :
Create a positive classroom environment that is conducive to learning, ensuring safety, order, and discipline.
Promote Social and Emotional Development :
Encourage children to work together, develop empathy, and express themselves in healthy and constructive ways.
Collaborate with Colleagues :
Work with other teachers, staff, and administrators to coordinate activities and curriculum, and attend staff meetings and professional development sessions.
Parent Communication :
Build and maintain effective communication with parents through regular updates, parent-teacher meetings, and feedback.
Resource Management :
Maintain classroom supplies, materials, and resources, ensuring a clean and organized learning environment.
Follow School Policies :
Adhere to school policies, procedures, and guidelines, maintaining professional behavior at all times.
Qualifications :
Educational Background :
A Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field.
Experience :
Prior experience in teaching or working with young children is preferred.
Skills :
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Creativity in planning and executing lessons and activities.
Patience, enthusiasm, and a nurturing attitude.
Ability to manage a classroom and handle challenging behavior.
Basic knowledge of child development and learning theories.
