Job Description

Job Purpose (Job Summary): Invesco is looking for an experienced Advanced Engineer to join our Investment Technology team. The candidate must have strong technical expertise and coding (Python / R) practices.

We are building a proprietary Interfaces, Data loads, Cloud native RStudio (running on AWS EKS) etc., for Fixed Income Quants and Research business users.

We have a pragmatic approach to architectural and technology choices, and hope you will too. We pair program and follow Test Driven Development because we know it delivers remarkable results.

Our core frameworks, tools, tech stack are Bitbucket, Python/R, Snowflake etc. We deploy our applications to AWS Cloud Infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities / Duties:

• Acts in the capacity of owing end to end dev tasks.
• Able to set technical standards for the team and influences the team to adhere and follow them.
• Implement technical design and development. Write robust back-end code using Python/R libraries
• Develop rich, interactive data visualizations, and other dynamic features
• Automate test using tools like Selenium, Junit, Jasmine, Mocha, Chai using Test driven development framework.
• Be part of a forum for code reviews before the code is deployed to production
• Collaborate with product managers to translate business problems into technical requirements
• Communicate effectively across all team roles, users, and stakeholders
  
  

Work Experience / Knowledge:

• Must have experience building and leading teams with expertise in building independent interfaces/development & deep expertise in Python/R libraries.
• 5+ years of IT experience in programming like Python or R, building relational databases in Cloud like Snowflake, SQL Server etc.
• Experience/Exposure to test automation will be a plus –Selenium , Junit , Jasmine or comparable tools like Mocha, Chai etc
• Production experience with continuous integration
• 3+ experience with Cloud based technologies (AWS)
• 2+ experience with Snowflake is a plus
• Experience/Exposure to RStudio is a plus.
• Experience with DevOps
• Strong Production experience of application server and database development, including basic data structures and algorithms

Working Conditions:

• Normal office environment with little exposure to noise, dust, and temperatures
• The ability to lift, carry or otherwise move objects of up to 10 pounds is also necessary
• Normally a regular schedule of hours, however hours may vary depending upon the project or assignment
• Hours may include evenings and/or weekends and may include 24 hours a day on call support by pager and/or cell phone
• Able and willing to travel both domestically and internationally. Frequency and duration to be determined by manager. Estimate: 0-5%
