About the Role :

Whatfix is working on building an intelligent assistant that understands user actions and intent, acting as a helpful guide to enhance productivity. This assistant will anticipate user needs, provide actionable insights, and streamline task completion.

We are seeking rockstar AI / ML Engineers who have experience in building world-class products. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for leveraging AI and machine learning to create cutting-edge solutions that transform user experiences. Key Responsibilities :

  • Build a 0-to-1 Intent detection with a strong focus on scalability, performance, and relevance.
  • Lead proof-of-concept efforts to validate ideas quickly and align with business goals.
  • Architect and implement robust, maintainable, and scalable systems for indexing, querying, and ranking.
  • Develop data pipelines, implement automation for reliability, and ensure strong observability and monitoring.
  • Work closely with Product Managers and Designers to translate user needs into data-driven, intuitive search experiences.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (data, platform, infra) to deliver cohesive and high impact solutions.
  • Technical Excellence : Maintain active involvement in the development process, ensuring a high technical standard is met across the team. Be accountable for the technical quality, including adherence to design and architectural standards. Lead efforts to resolve technology bottlenecks and implement reusable solutions to enhance efficiency and product quality.

    • Our Ideal candidate :

  • Familiarity with LLMs, RAG pipelines, vector search, embeddings, and / or neural ranking models (e.g., BERT, Sentence Transformers).
  • Experience with building product using LLM.
  • Strong programming skills in Java or Python.
  • Deep Learning Expertise : Strong understanding of deep learning principles in both Computer Vision and Natural Language Processing (NLP).
  • Libraries : Proficiency in machine learning and deep learning libraries like PyTorch and Hugging Face.
  • Technical Skills : Demonstrated ability to implement, improve, debug, and maintain the product that are built using LLM / integration with LLM.
  • Experience with code reviews, design documentation, and improving code structure and architecture.
  • Analyze Functional & Non-Functional requirements with effort estimation and deployment strategies.
  • Design for performance, scalability, fault tolerance, and high availability.

    • Nice to Have :

  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
  • Self-motivated and responsible, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in handling and visualizing large datasets and creating performance reports.
