  • We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Lead to support the Rates & Credit and broader Fixed Income Currencies businesses.
  • This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our real-time trading platforms. You will apply SRE principles to proactively manage system health, drive operational excellence, and collaborate closely with senior traders, developers, and cross-functional teams to optimize front-to-back workflows.
  • As a technical leader, you will be responsible for maintaining platform availability, resolving complex issues, and championing automation and observability initiatives. Your ability to lead a team, communicate effectively across business and technology stakeholders, and operate under pressure in a fast-paced trading environment will be critical to success.

    • Your key responsibilities

  • Incident & Problem Management : Respond rapidly to production incidents with data driven decision making, minimizing downtime and financial impact. Lead root cause analysis and conduct blameless post-mortems.
  • Monitoring & Automation : Enhance application health monitoring and implement automation to reduce manual intervention and improve system resilience, with a key focus on start of day health checks.
  • Disaster Recovery : Participate in Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity Plan exercises (may include some Out of Hours activities)
  • Collaboration : Partner with development teams to design and deploy fault-tolerant, scalable solutions aligned with business goals.
  • Governance & Compliance : Enforce and adhere to change, incident, and problem management policies, as well as bank specific non-financial risk frameworks.
  • Mentorship & Role Modelling : Support the growth of junior team members and promote a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement. Engagement in wider Technology & Bank-wide initiatives such as Engineering Days, Hackathons, Volunteering, Lunch and Learns, Employee Resource Group events, etc.

    • Your skills and experience

  • A bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • 15yrs+ proven industry experience in a Production Support, Site Reliability Engineer, or DevOps role within a Trading or Financial Services Environment.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development concepts and wider processes within the Software Development Life Cycle i.e. Change, Incident, Problem Management.
  • Strong technical skills in Linux / Unix systems, SQL, shell scripting, and programming languages such as Python, Java, etc.
  • Strong experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Geneos, OpenTelemetry).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, containerization (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker), and CI / CD pipelines.
  • Have a strong understanding of the trade lifecycle and fundamental trading systems. Knowledge of Fixed Income and related products such as Rates, Credit and Repo.
  • Self-motivated, proactive in nature, and ability to work independently; as well as collaboratively in a global organisation
