Role Overview
The Strategy & Business Transformation team in the CFO’s Office partners with JPL’s business leaders to shape and execute the company’s value-creation agenda.
In this role, you will lead high-impact strategic initiatives across Jio’s portfolio and own strategic initiatives end-to-end – from framing the problem and building the business case, to driving cross-functional execution and delivering measurable P&L impact. You’ll work at the intersection of business, finance and operations, leading projects in growth strategy, investment analysis, capex programs, cost optimization, and performance improvement across Jio’s businesses in India and select international markets.
The role offers high visibility with the CFO and business CXOs and is ideal for leaders who enjoy moving seamlessly from strategy deck to implementation on the ground.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic & Investment Initiatives
- Define and refine strategic priorities for the CFO’s Office in partnership with business leaders.
- Lead business case evaluations and investment analyses for new products, markets and business lines, including capex-heavy initiatives.
- Build robust financial models and scenarios to support strategic decisions on growth, capital allocation and portfolio choices.
- Convert insights into clear recommendations and narratives for the CFO, CEO and leadership forums.
2. Cost & Capital Productivity Programs
Identify cost and capital productivity levers across procurement, network & technology, supply chain, operations and overheads.Design and drive cost-optimisation and capex-effectiveness programs with clear targets and timelines.Set up mechanisms to track impact, validate benefits and ensure they flow through to the P&L.3. Commercial Strategy & Revenue Improvement
Lead commercial initiatives to strengthen revenue, margins and customer profitability.Analyse pricing, discounting, product / channel profitability and commercial spends to identify improvement opportunities.Partner with Sales, Product, Commercial and Business Finance teams to drive programs on segmentation, pricing discipline, monetisation models and market penetration.Recommend changes in commercial policies, contract structures, credit terms and trade spends to enhance profitability and risk management.4. Business Finance & Performance Management
Support improvement in budgeting, forecasting, working capital and P&L performance management processes.Develop dashboards and KPI frameworks that provide actionable performance visibility to leadership.Strengthen revenue assurance, margin analysis and control processes to reduce leakages and improve predictability.5. Strategy-to-Execution Leadership & Governance
Own critical transformation programs end-to-end – problem definition, solution design, roadmap, implementation and impact measurement.Define project charters, milestones, KPIs and governance structures for each initiative.Coordinate cross-functional teams, manage risks and dependencies, and ensure timely decision-making.Communicate progress and impact effectively to senior stakeholders, ensuring alignment and sponsorship.Ideal Candidate Profile
