Job Overview
A seasoned bookkeeper and payroll administrator with expertise in the Canadian trucking industry is required to manage full-cycle bookkeeping, payroll, and compliance independently.
Key Responsibilities :
- Maintain accurate financial records for fleet operations and freight transactions.
- Process accounts payable / receivable, including fuel cards, permits, and vendor payments.
- Manage payroll, driver settlements, and reimbursements.
- Handle provincial fuel tax reporting and quarterly filings.
- Track equipment depreciation, maintenance costs, and compliance-related expenses.
- Reconcile bank / credit card accounts and prepare cash flow projections.
- Prepare accurate monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
- Ensure GST / HST, CRA, and year-end compliance, including audit support.
Requirements :
5+ years bookkeeping / accounting experience in Canada, preferably in transportation / trucking.Proven track record of handling Canadian payroll administration.Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online & Microsoft Excel.Strong knowledge of Canadian taxes and provincial fuel tax compliance.Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to work independently in a remote setup with minimal supervision.High ethical standards, confidentiality, and reliability.This role requires a high degree of autonomy, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
