Deputy Accounting Lead
Position Summary :
The Deputy Accounting Lead is the Finance Relationship Owner (FRO) for statutory reporting for the Global Accounting Lead. The key responsibility of the role is to manage all statutory and regulatory accounting requirements of the operations for the relevant Global entities. The DAL serves as a key member of the Global Controlling team. The DAL is expected to understand the Group CFO - Controllings needs and coordinate delivery of relevant finance services in a seamless fashion by collaborating with other key Finance roles.
Essential Functions of the Job :
- The Deputy Accounting Lead serves as the Finance Relationship Owner (FRO) for statutory reporting for the Global Accounting Lead and is responsible for statutory and legal accounting requirements of the Global entities
- Possess the right level of local knowledge and skill sets and build visibility within the firm to be able to funnel information from various parts of the business; have the knowledge to highlight potential tax or statutory reporting issues to refer to the relevant expert team
- Expected to understand Group CFO Controllings needs and coordinate delivery of relevant finance services in a seamless fashion by collaborating with other key Finance roles such as the External Reporting Lead IT and non-IT FRO leads as well as the Global Delivery Services (GDS) teams
- Manage relationships and serve as strategic liaison between GDS / offshore resources and the Global entities to support issues related to all statutory and regulatory reporting processes as well as represent business needs and interests within Finance ensuring alignment between GDS and assigned area of business
- Ensure that Statutory and Tax reporting are consistent and in compliance with all established financial policies and local regulations
- Plan and coordinate the local statutory accounting and reporting processes for the assigned geography
- Manage the process of preparation and review local IFRS statutory reporting and where applicable any local corporate tax compliance to ensure timely submission to the authorities
- Prepare and manage local statutory calendar; coordinate internal and external audit processes
- Work closely with the relevant teams to develop / review and implement policies standards and guidelines relating to country statutory and tax compliance
- Support Region Finance Leads on advisory projects regarding Tax and Local Statutory Accounting
- Work with the relevant stakeholders in establishing processes and in promoting a culture that ensures compliance with regulatory requirements
- Form and communicate a clear and concise view of financial performance
- Synthesize and communicate detailed financial information in support of effective decision making
- Utilize sound financial practices and seek leading practices to support operational excellence
- Focus on analysis advice and solutions that drive the continuous improvement of financial performance
- Drives interactions that build trust and manage expectations with all stakeholders
- Teams with finance colleagues and other functions to enhance service to client and to leverage leading practices

Graduate and / or professional certification in a business-related subject matter (i.e. Accounting Finance) is required to perform in this position.Experience :
7-10 years of professional experience in Finance Accounting or Controlling; preferred experience as a Controller in a large multi-national organizationSignificant experience in or knowledge of accounting within a professional services environment including compliance and reportingStrong experience with creating and analyzing financial statementsStrong experience with general ledger functions and the month-end / year end close processCertification Requirements :
