Job description

We are looking for an experienced SAP BASIS Administrator with a strong background in managing complex SAP environments. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of SAP system administration, including migrations , performance tuning , database management , and support of various SAP components . You will be instrumental in ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our SAP systems .

Key Responsibilities

SAP System Management :
Monitor all SAP system activity daily, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
Maintain and adjust SAP system profile configurations , proactively addressing issues and enhancing performance.
Administer and monitor background processing and batch jobs ; assist production schedulers with PL / SQL scripts for mass parallel job monitoring.
Manage load balancing for application server logins , monitoring workload and allocating additional resources, especially during peak periods like month-end processing.
Monitor and apply SAP support OSS notes ; use SAP online support for problem research, reporting, scheduling, and solution implementation.
Maintain sandbox, development, quality assurance (QA), and training environments , including regular refreshes from production and post-processing steps.
Complete installations and upgrades of SAP systems and core modules, providing continuous SAP support package upgrades and R / 3 kernel upgrades as required.
Maintain J2EE software stacks , covering monitoring, debugging, and troubleshooting issues related to the Java stack.
Maintain the SAP portal environment , configuring backend services, and managing SSL certificates (creation, change, update).
Plan for SAP upgrades / support packages , system sizing (capacity planning) , and disk / storage / server layout.
Migration and Cloud Support :
Demonstrate experience and provide support for SAP components R / 3 to S / 4 migration projects.
Demonstrate experience with SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) setup, configuration, and maintenance , and provide ongoing support.
Database Administration :
Monitor and adjust ASE / HANA databases to ensure optimal performance.
Complete upgrades of ASE / HANA databases , including the installation of CPU and security patches .
Monitor database growth and activity , adjusting resources and adding storage space as required.
Perform table and index maintenance , reorganizing database tables and rebuilding indexes as needed.
System Operations & Maintenance :
Demonstrate experience with SAP Archiving and transaction SARA .
Demonstrate experience working in a Unix-based server environment .
Participate in disaster recovery scenarios on a yearly basis.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

6+ years of demonstrated SAP Basis experience.

Proven experience migrating SAP components from R / 3 to S / 4 .

Demonstrated experience with SAP BTP setup, configuration, and maintenance .

Demonstrated experience with SAP Archiving and transaction SARA .

Demonstrated experience working in a Unix-based server environment .

Experience with Solution Manager .

Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple assignments under time constraints while maintaining high-quality work with minimal supervision.

Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills in researching and solving technical problems related to SAP Basis and database performance (including Oracle).

Ability to execute assigned tasks with limited instruction, provide task status, and seek help when needed.

Ability to interact and work effectively as a team member within the Basis administration team .

Demonstrated experience performing analysis and capacity planning in an SAP environment .

Desired Skills

Any relevant SAP certifications are preferable.

Excellent communication skills , both oral and written.

Demonstrated sophisticated reasoning skills .
