Key Responsibilities :
- Take up jobs with a clear understanding of objectives and complete details
- Plan the job sequence to complete tasks in the shortest possible time, advising contractors on critical path activities and timelines
- Coordinate issuance and collection of required materials (CPCL scope of supply) and monitor correct usage
- Read and understand piping modification and replacement drawings as per inspection work lists
- Obtain clarifications from CPCL Maintenance Engineer before starting jobs if required
- Coordinate with CPCL manufacturing and contractors to release pipelines promptly and identify locations for blinding, hose connections, and flange wedge openings
- Be physically present during the first hot work on every pipeline to ensure safety
- Monitor progress of replacement / modification work joint-wise for each pipeline
- Follow up with CPCL Inspection for clearances on fit-up, welding, tests (DP test, Radiography), stress relieving, and hydrotesting
- Review shift handover logs and communicate effectively with CPCL engineers and outsourced teams
- Visit site regularly to check ongoing jobs and provide inputs to prevent resource constraints or delays
- Maintain vigilance on safety, immediately rectify violations, and report them to CPCL and Safety Engineers
- Document progress details in the Shift Turnover Log book, including activity start / completion times
- Summarize completed jobs (welding joints, stress relieving, radiography, hydrotests) at shift end in the provided format
- Ensure jobs are executed according to work lists, safety procedures, refinery FS guidelines, and maintenance work standards
- Prepare daily status reports as required by CPCL Manager
- Coordinate with contractors and prepare material requirement plans; communicate with CPCL Planning Manager
- Liaise with various refinery departments such as Inspection and Manufacturing for smooth execution
General Requirements :
Familiarity with codes and standards like ASTM, ANSI, APIExperience with pressure vessels, columns, towers, exchangers, heaters, reactors, and refinery piping systemsAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings with basic mechanical engineering knowledgeProficient in MS Office for report preparationHands-on experience with Primavera project management software is mandatoryKnowledge of CPCL rules, regulations, and safety guidelinesCommitment to adhere to all safety rules while working in the refinery environmentWorking Hours :
