Fluent in reading, writing, and conversing in both Japanese & English languages to establish good coordination and communication with Customer, Onsite and Offshore teams.
Actively involve in the primary responsibilities that include but not limited to :
Serve as Scrum Master for one or more cross-functional teams developing and supporting insurance IT products (policy admin, claims, billing, etc.).
Organize and facilitate Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives, in bilingual (Japanese / English) settings.
Coach teams on Agile values, principles, and practices to improve delivery and team health.
Shield teams from external disruptions and help identify and remove impediments.
Foster effective communication and collaboration between onsite, and offshore teams.
Track and help teams achieve sprint / release objectives, managing team velocity and burndown / burnup metrics.
Support Product Owners and business stakeholders in backlog prioritization and acceptance criteria.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within insurance IT teams.
Actively contribute towards various Transformation initiatives (Process maturity, Devops automation, Security vulnerability remediation, etc.) to achieve the project goals.
Mentoring and guiding junior team members while assigning and tracking the tasks for closure without any schedule, quality and cost slippages.
Required Skills
JLPT N3 / N2 or Above certified. Fluent in reading, writing, and conversing in Japanese with native speakers.
5+ years of Scrum Master or Agile Project Management experience.
Practical insurance domain knowledge (Life and / or P&C), with proven experience in regulated, bilingual environments.
Deep familiarity with Agile / Scrum principles and associated tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
Experience working with distributed and multicultural teams.
Ability to effectively coordinate with Product owner, Customer SMEs from Business & IT, Onsite and Offshore teams.
Actively involve in Application transition and stabilization phases by aligning to Japan (JST) working hours.
Nice To Have
Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM, or equivalent).
Exposure to hybrid delivery (Guidewire, Salesforce, COTS, digital modernization).
Experience supporting both business analysts and technical delivery teams.
