Role Overview :
The Director / Senior Director of Resource Management will be responsible for leading workforce planning, capacity management, resource utilization, and talent deployment to optimize project success and business growth. This role requires strategic thinking, collaboration with business leaders, and operational excellence to ensure the right talent is assigned to the right projects at the right time.
Key Responsibilities :
Strategic Resource Planning & Workforce Management
- Develop and execute resource management strategies aligned with business goals.
- Optimize workforce capacity by balancing supply and demand across multiple projects.
- Work closely with senior leadership, delivery, and talent acquisition teams to plan for future skill requirements.
Resource Allocation & Utilization
Manage the allocation of resources across projects to ensure optimal utilization and business efficiency.Implement workforce forecasting models and demand planning to anticipate future needs.Drive automation and analytics-based decision-making for resource planning.Talent Deployment & Internal Mobility
Partner with HR, Talent Acquisition, and Learning & Development teams to align hiring, upskilling, and reskilling efforts with business needs.Develop internal talent mobility frameworks to optimize career progression and engagement.Enable succession planning by identifying and grooming key talent within the organization.Stakeholder Management & Collaboration
Act as a strategic advisor to business leaders on workforce-related decisions.Collaborate with sales, delivery, and finance teams to align resource management with business forecasting and revenue goals.Serve as the primary escalation point for resource conflicts and talent gaps.Process Optimization & Technology Enablement
Drive automation and analytics-driven insights using RM tools like SAP, ServiceNow, Planview, or proprietary systems.Establish the best practices and governance frameworks for resource planning and management.Continuously improve RM processes to increase efficiency and reduce bench costs.Reporting & Analytics
Design and implement dashboards to track key metrics like utilization, billability, and project staffing trends.Provide insights and recommendations to leadership based on data-driven workforce analysis.Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.Required Qualifications & Skills :
Experience & Domain Expertise :
16+ years of experience in resource management, workforce planning, and capacity management within IT services, consulting, or a similar industry.Proven track record of managing large-scale resource pools (e.g., 500+ employees).Strong knowledge of supply-demand planning, talent deployment, and workforce forecasting.Technical & Analytical Skills :
Proficiency in RM tools like SAP, ServiceNow, Planview, or any industry-standard workforce management tools.Strong data analytics and visualization skills using Power BI, Tableau, or Excel.Understanding of multi-cloud environments, digital transformation, and emerging technologies (preferred).Leadership & Soft Skills :
Strong leadership and stakeholder management abilities with experience in advising senior executives.Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage escalations in high-pressure situations.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present insights to leadership teams.Ability to drive process improvements, automation, and strategic workforce planning.Preferred Qualifications :
MBA or equivalent degree in HR, Business Administration, or Operations Management.Certifications in Workforce Planning, HR Analytics, or Resource Management tools.Experience in working with global and distributed teams across multiple geographies.
