Senior Transmission Engineer

Essential Duties / Responsibilities

Extensive Working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D and 3D.

4+ years’ experience developing design drawings for transmission or distribution projects.

Sound understanding of drafting standards and ability to Quality Control on own.

Hands-on experience developing transmission line plan and profile drawings, transmission / distribution line hardware details, hardware assembly details, material lists, and grounding details.

Experience creating master sketches to scale showing relation of proposed installations to existing facilities and exact specifications and dimensions.

Ability to confer directly with engineering staff in interpreting input from a variety of sources, such as engineering specifications, PLS CADD & PLS POLE outputs, weight and volume calculations.

Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of the computer.

Strong communication skills (verbal and written).

Attention to detail.

Preferred skills :

Familiarity with PLS-CADD & PLS-POLE software.

Familiar with North American overhead power line industry standards.
