Job description : Engineer / Sr Engineer -Motor QA

Location : Krishnagiri, Hosur

About The Role

We are seeking a skilled Quality Engineer specializing in Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSMs) to oversee and drive quality assurance activities throughout the motor development and production lifecycle. The role includes monitoring in-process quality, supplier quality, field returns, and driving corrective and preventive actions to ensure product reliability, compliance, and performance.

You Will

• Develop, implement, and maintain supplier quality assurance procedures / standards for mechanical parts.
• Conduct supplier audits (initial, process, product, and system) and capability assessments.
• Collaborate with suppliers on PPAP,AOI, DVP / PVP and APQP submissions and evaluations.
• Collaborate with engineering to review drawings, GD&T, and material specifications for manufacturability and quality compliance.
• Provide technical guidance to suppliers on casting , forging and machining (e.g., turning, milling, drilling, grinding) processes.
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for supplier-related quality issues (8D, 5Why, Fishbone, etc.).
• Monitor supplier performance using KPIs (PPM, NCRs, etc.) and implement improvement plans as needed.
• Review technical drawings, specifications, and material standards to validate supplier compliance.
• Support NPI (New Product Introduction) activities by ensuring supplier readiness and quality alignment.
• Participate in design and process FMEAs with cross-functional teams.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or AS9100 (as applicable).
• Interface with engineering, procurement, and manufacturing teams to resolve quality issues efficiently.
