Presales : Lead Solution Architect (Content)

Joining Location : Mumbai

A candidate with 10-15 years of relevant experience in instructional design and content development, including doing hands-on work on projects, leading teams, liaising with cross-functional teams and clients, and having an understanding of project budgets and allocations.

Job Description

Understanding Client Needs and Challenges

  • Client Needs Analysis : Review RFPs / requirement documents to gain a solid understanding of a potential client’s needs, or when the opportunity presents itself, conduct needs analysis sessions with clients to understand their project / business objectives, challenges, audience characteristics, and desired outcomes
  • Requirement Gathering : Collect detailed requirements that will guide the instructional design process to ensure the proposed solution meets or exceeds the client's expectations

Solution Design and Proposal

  • Customized Learning Solutions : Design bespoke learning solutions that address clients' specific challenges, goals, and timelines. This involves :
  • Selecting appropriate instructional strategies, technologies, and delivery methods
  • Considering solutions based on AI and automation tools to increase efficiencies and result in cost-effective solutions for the client
  • Solution Documentation : Prepare detailed proposal documents that outline the scope of work, project details (input, deliverables, assumptions, etc.), and solution, including the design approach, implementation plan, timelines, and costs; work with the Sales and Accounts team on creating effective capabilities presentations
  • Solution Estimation : Able to work with Presales / Business Analysts and other functional teams (Media, Technology, Accessibility, Automation, and Editorial) to provide a work breakdown structure for the solution, especially for instructional tasks required to deliver the solution, and derive the final cost for the solution
  • Prototyping and Demonstration : Provide support in developing prototypes or concept proofs that demonstrate how the proposed solution addresses clients’ needs. This can include mock-ups, storyboards, or limited functionality demos
  • Collaboration and Communication

  • Cross-functional Teamwork : Work closely with Sales teams, subject matter experts (SMEs), Media and Technology teams, and other stakeholders to ensure the proposed solution is feasible and aligns with the overall sales strategy and company capabilities
  • Client Presentation : Effectively communicate the proposed solution to clients, highlighting its benefits and how it solves their problems
  • Value Proposition and Consultative Selling

  • Highlighting Benefits : Clearly articulate the value proposition of the learning solution, focusing on its potential impact on the client’s business, such as improved performance, enhanced learner engagement, and ROI
  • Consultative Approach : Adopt a consultative selling approach, positioning oneself as an expert in instructional design and learning technologies to build trust and credibility with the client
  • Market Awareness and Continuous Learning

  • Industry Trends : Stay updated on the latest trends in instructional design, e-learning technologies, and adult learning theories to propose innovative and cutting-edge solutions
  • Feedback Loop : Collect feedback from potential clients during the proposal stage to refine and adjust the solution as necessary
  • Desired Competencies

    Learning Design Expertise and Experience

  • Deep understanding of instructional design, learning principles, and accessibility compliance guidelines
  • Experience in creating courses (online, hybrid, and hyflex) and leading project teams for K-12 / HE / Workforce clients
  • Ability to recommend and articulate learning solutions rooted in tried and tested ID principles and factoring in the latest e-learning trends / technologies
  • Tools and Systems Expertise and Experience

  • Expertise in using cloud-based applications and services such as Google Slides, Docs, Sheets, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of learning management systems, learning technology platforms, content management systems, and media tools

  • Work with the operations team to confirm the feasibility of proposed solutions (w.r.t available team competencies, tools, timelines, execution model, etc.)
  • Work with the Sales team to understand business perspectives and provide solutions
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in any discipline
  • Instructional Design degree / diploma / certificate
  • Certifications in any EdTech skills / competencies
