Role Overview :

A Political Cartoonist creates visually engaging and satirical drawings that comment on current political events, public figures, and social issues. The role combines artistic skill with strong political awareness and the ability to communicate complex ideas through humour, symbolism, and visual storytelling.

Key Responsibilities

Conceptualize and illustrate political cartoons based on daily news, party narratives, and ongoing socio-political developments.

Collaborate with editors, communication teams, or campaign strategists to align content with the organization’s voice and positioning.

Use satire, caricature, and symbolism to simplify complex political subjects into impactful visuals.

Produce content for social media, campaign materials, and digital platforms.

Stay updated on political developments, public sentiment, and cultural nuances to ensure relevance and accuracy.

Adapt artwork styles based on medium requirements (print, digital, animation-ready, etc.).

Maintain consistency in tone — whether humorous, critical, or persuasive — while respecting ethical and legal boundaries.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Strong drawing and illustration skills (traditional or digital).

Deep understanding of political systems, current affairs, and public discourse.

Creativity with a strong sense of humour and satire.

Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Procreate, Animate CC, Clip Studio , etc.

Basic animation skills (e.g., creating short animated loops or motion graphics for social media).

Ability to work under tight deadlines and respond quickly to immediate requirements.

Excellent communication and storytelling skills.
