We are seeking a Platform Support Specialist to help maintain and evolve Microsoft Fabric & Power BI ecosystem as global adoption continues to grow. This role ensures platform stability, capacity optimization, and an excellent experience for all Fabric users worldwide.
Role Overview
The Ops & Support Specialist – Microsoft Fabric plays a key role in maintaining and evolving Microsoft Fabric platform as adoption scales globally. Reporting to the BI Platform Lead , this role focuses on ensuring stability, efficient capacity management, and a high-quality experience for Fabric users. The specialist will manage daily operations, troubleshoot issues, coordinate with Microsoft support, and implement improvements to enhance performance, security, and reliability across the BI ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Operations & Stability
- Monitor and maintain the operational health of Microsoft Fabric, ensuring uptime, reliability, and optimal performance.
- Manage capacity allocation and scaling, optimizing for cost efficiency and user growth.
- Respond to and resolve incidents promptly, coordinating with internal teams and Microsoft support as needed.
- Administer workspace configuration, permissions, and user / group access per governance policies.
- Stay ahead of Microsoft releases that will provide new functionality or impact existing workloads
- Implement and Support platform monitoring, alerting, and proactive issue detection.
Customer Support & Success
Provide high-quality operational support for internal Fabric users, ensuring quick and accurate issue resolution.Manage ServiceNow tickets and adhere to defined SLAs for incident and request handling.Communicate platform updates, outages, and maintenance events clearly and proactively to stakeholders.Partner with analytics teams to assist in onboarding new workspaces, optimizing performance, and troubleshooting datasets, pipelines, and capacity-related issues.Collect feedback from users and contribute to continuous improvement efforts across Fabric operations.Automation & Process Improvement
Identify manual or repetitive operational tasks and develop scripts or workflows (e.G., PowerShell, Fabric APIs) to automate and streamline them.Contribute to standard operating procedures (SOPs), documentation, and best practices for Fabric management.Participate in cross-platform initiatives to enhance integration between Power BI, Fabric, and other enterprise BI tools.Ensure compliance with internal security, data protection, and access control policies in partnership with ISRM and Infrastructure teams.You’re Good At
Troubleshooting and resolving complex platform issues across infrastructure, networking, and application layers.Managing and optimizing Fabric capacities, workspaces, and usage.Working independently while collaborating effectively with technical leads, analysts, and engineers.Communicating clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Documenting processes and continuously improving system operations.Maintaining strong attention to detail in a fast-moving environment.What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical experience.3–5 years of experience in platform operations, IT infrastructure, or BI platform administration.Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and Power BI administration (capacity management, workspace provisioning, governance).Familiarity with Azure , Active Directory / Entra ID , and SSO integrations (OKTA, etc.) .Basic scripting or automation skills (e.G., PowerShell, Python, REST APIs).Knowledge of ITIL processes for change, incident, and problem management.Knowledge of AGILE methodologyExperience using ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools.
