Application Support Engineer (Java)

Location : Kochi -Onsite

Work Type : Full-time

: 0-15 Days

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled

Application Support Engineer

to join our team. The role involves

incident resolution, monitoring critical applications , and

collaborating with senior engineers

to ensure seamless operations in a high-availability environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide

application support

for Java-based enterprise applications.

Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to

Java, Servlets, JDBC, PL / SQL , and

Unix / Linux environments .

Perform

log analysis, debugging, and issue triaging

to ensure timely resolution.

Support

deployment activities

under senior team guidance.

Monitor applications

and batch processes; escalate issues when required.

Collaborate with

onsite / offshore teams

to meet defined

SLAs .

Maintain and update

issue logs, documentation, and runbooks .

Participate in

shift-based and on-call support rotations

(24x7).

Required Skills & Experience

Strong in

Java development

with solid debugging skills.

Hands-on experience with

Maven ,

PostgreSQL ,

Monitoring tools ,

Jira / Salesforce , and

AWS Exposure .

Good understanding of

Servlets, JSP, JDBC , and

PL / SQL .

Experience with

Oracle 19c , including

SQL / PL-SQL scripting

and

query tuning .

Familiarity with

IBM Liberty

and

Tomcat

for application deployment and monitoring.

Proficiency in

Unix / Linux (RHEL)

– log analysis, cron jobs, and shell commands.

Exposure to

Shell scripting (C-shell / Bash)

for automation and troubleshooting.

Working knowledge of

C / C++ executables

used in batch processing.

Basic awareness of

frontend debugging

(HTML, JavaScript).

Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

2–5 years of experience in

application support or production support

roles.

Experience in

incident management and issue triaging

within ITIL-based environments.
