HR Manager – Factory (Garments)
Location :
80 Kms from Indore, in Dhamnod.

Reporting To : Factory Head / CHRO
Role Overview :
The HR Manager will be responsible for managing the complete HR and IR functions of the garment factory. The role focuses on ensuring consistent manpower supply, developing a disciplined and industrialized workforce, maintaining harmonious industrial relations, and driving engagement and compliance across all factory operations.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Manpower Planning & Deployment
Ensure
daily availability of skilled and unskilled manpower
(operators, helpers, checkers, finishers, etc.) as per production requirements.
Plan and execute
worker recruitment campaigns in nearby villages and communities
to build a sustainable manpower pipeline.
Liaise with
contractors and manpower agencies
for continuous and quality supply of skilled workforce.
Monitor daily attendance, overtime, and productivity to optimize workforce utilization.
2. Workforce Industrialization & Counselling
Drive structured initiatives to
industrialize the workforce
— building factory discipline, punctuality, quality consciousness, and teamwork.
Conduct
regular counselling and orientation sessions
for workers on attendance, behavior, and performance standards.
Support supervisors in instilling
professional work habits and shop-floor discipline .
Run communication campaigns to create awareness about factory culture and benefits of steady industrial employment.
3. Contractor & Vendor Management
Identify and manage
contractors for manpower supply , ensuring adherence to all statutory and ethical standards.
Conduct regular audits of contractor records (PF, ESI, CLRA, etc.).
Build long-term, reliable partnerships with manpower vendors to minimize absenteeism and attrition.
4. Industrial Relations (IR)
Maintain
harmonious industrial relations
by engaging proactively with workers and their representatives.
Handle grievances, counselling, and disciplinary actions in a fair and consistent manner.
Liaise with
labour departments, factory inspectors, and local authorities
for compliance and statutory inspections.
Anticipate and resolve potential IR issues before escalation.
5. HR Operations & Compliance
Manage end-to-end HR operations including onboarding, attendance, payroll inputs, and exit formalities.
Ensure 100% compliance with
Factories Act, CLRA, PF, ESI, Bonus, Gratuity , and other labour laws.
Maintain up-to-date records and statutory documentation.
6. Training & Development
Identify training needs and coordinate
technical and behavioural training
for workers and staff.
Promote
multi-skilling programs
and operator efficiency enhancement initiatives.
Conduct safety and compliance training in coordination with EHS teams.
7. Employee Engagement & Welfare
Implement welfare initiatives such as canteen, transport, and medical facilities.
Drive regular engagement programs and celebrate milestones to build worker motivation and retention.
Ensure workplace safety, hygiene, and welfare provisions are in line with legal requirements.
Key Skills & Competencies :
Strong knowledge of
industrial relations and labour law compliance .
Hands-on experience in
large workforce management and contractor handling .
Ability to
recruit workers through field campaigns and community outreach .
Excellent interpersonal, counselling, and communication skills.
Strong administrative, coordination, and data management capabilities.
Qualification & Experience :
MBA / PGDM in HR or equivalent qualification.
8–12 years of experience
in HR within
garment / apparel manufacturing
or similar industries.
Proven experience in
manpower sourcing, IR, and factory HR operations .

Hands-on, approachable, and able to connect with the workforce at all levels.
Strong sense of ownership and commitment to ethical practices.
