About the Role :

Unix or Linux Administrators are responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and availability of software systems by applying software engineering principles to IT operations.

Key Responsibilities :

Monitoring and Automation : SREs monitor system performance and automate manual processes to improve efficiency and reliability.

Incident Management : They respond to incidents, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to prevent future occurrences.

Capacity Planning : SREs assess system capacity and plan for future growth to ensure scalability.

Collaboration : They work closely with development teams to integrate reliability into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

Disaster Recovery : SREs prepare and implement disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.

Performance Optimization : They analyze system performance and make recommendations for improvements.

You’ll Bring :

Technical Proficiency : Strong knowledge of operating systems (Linux), cloud services (AWS, Azure), and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

Programming Skills : Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, or Java for automation and scripting tasks.

Monitoring Tools : Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, and ELK stack.

DevOps Practices : Familiarity with DevOps methodologies, CI / CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform.

Problem-Solving : Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex system issues.

Work Environment

SREs typically work in fast-paced environments where they are expected to manage multiple tasks and respond to incidents promptly. They often collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and IT operations staff, to ensure the reliability and performance of applications and infrastructure
