About the Role
We are looking to hire an exceptional Chief Investment Officer (CIO) to lead our investment strategy, research process, portfolio construction, and team development across our PMS and AIF platforms. The ideal candidate will bring deep market insight, proven fund management capability, and leadership maturity to help shape the firms long-term performance and culture.
This is a leadership role with both strategic and operational responsibilities, with clear visibility toward equity ownership and long-term alignment.
Key Responsibilities
Investment Strategy & Leadership
Define and lead the firms overall investment philosophy, asset allocation framework, and sectoral approach across PMS and AIF mandates
Deliver performance in line with risk-adjusted return expectations over 35 year cycles
Align investment process with long-term client objectives and firms value system
Portfolio Management
Directly manage flagship PMS / AIF portfolios with AUM of 3,000 Cr+
Oversee asset selection, position sizing, entry / exit timing, and liquidity management
Monitor macro & micro risks; implement hedging or tactical asset allocation if required
Research Oversight
Institutionalize deep fundamental research across sectors, themes, and capital cycles
Lead and mentor a high-performing investment team including sector analysts and portfolio managers
Promote original thinking, deep diligence, and thesis-driven investing
Team Building & People Leadership
Attract, develop, and retain top investment talent
Foster a culture of intellectual integrity, curiosity, and performance ownership
Build succession and scaling capabilities for future growth
Stakeholder Alignment
Collaborate with CEO on strategic initiatives including product pipeline, client conversations, and investor education
Participate in key client and partner meetings as needed
Ensure compliance with SEBI regulations and internal risk / governance frameworks
Ideal Candidate Profile
18+ years of experience in public markets investing, preferably leading PMS / AIF portfolios
Proven ability to manage and deliver performance on AUM of 3,000 Cr or more
Deep sectoral and macro understanding; strong investment judgment
Strong team-building and leadership experience (managing analysts / PMs)
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Integrity, long-term orientation, and alignment with the firms investment philosophy
CFA, CA, MBA (Finance), or other relevant qualifications preferred
