Day to Day Responsibilities :

Training and Project State :

  • Undergo on-the-job training in India / APAC region for glass finishing process / technology.
  • Assist in the installation, startup, troubleshooting, and operation of manufacturing equipments.
  • Monitor process trend charts to ensure he process is under control.
  • Check and confirm daily operation checklist to ensure all operation compliance.
  • Establish manufacturing processes.

In steady state

  • Support or lead sub-teams on new equipment installation, process certification, documentation, and training.
  • Train operators and supervisors on new equipment and processes.
  • Troubleshoot material, process, and equipment issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Implement and document material, process, and / or equipment changes.
  • Work with other team members to solve difficult technical, engineering-related problems.
  • Support or lead small project teams focusing on continuous improvement activities, new product / process introductions, and cost reduction projects.
  • Support any plant-level project such as start-up, equipment upgrade, new technology, process improvement, etc.
  • Execute cost reduction and improvement (DMAIC) projects in line with business objectives.
  • Create and support developments in equipment design and new process that can enhance the current process capabilities.
  • Deliver on plant manufacturing objectives ship to request, manufacturing cost, quality and safety.
  • Understand manufacturing cost.
  • Define, manage, and support continuous improvement of existing manufacturing processes.
  • Lead or support Corrective Action Initiatives' related to quality, safety or unscheduled equipment downtime.
  • Insure an efficient and seamless ransfer of new products and manufacturing technologies from engineering to manufacturing.
  • Reporting Structure :

    Immediate Supervisor : Engineering Manager / Lead or Production Head

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 5-10 years of engineering experience preferably in glass manufacturing environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong data analysis skills and an analytical mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and / or as a team leader.
  • Technical aptitude conducive to building proficiency in troubleshooting manufacturing equipment and evaluating manufacturing data.
  • Experience with MS-office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and MS Access.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or DMAIC project experience.
