IBM Information Server

Teamware Solutions is seeking a skilled professional for the IBM Information Server Specialist role. This position is crucial for designing, developing, and maintaining our enterprise data integration and data quality solutions. You'll work with relevant technologies, ensuring smooth data operations, and contributing significantly to business objectives through expert analysis, development of data pipelines, implementation, and troubleshooting within the IBM Information Server domain.

Roles and Responsibilities :

• Platform Administration & Management : Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain components of the IBM InfoSphere Information Server suite, including DataStage, QualityStage, Information Analyzer, and Business Glossary.
• ETL Development : Design, develop, and implement complex ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) jobs using IBM DataStage to integrate data from various source systems (databases, flat files, APIs) into target data warehouses, data marts, or other applications.
• Data Quality Implementation : Utilize IBM QualityStage to design and implement data quality rules, data cleansing, standardization, matching, and de-duplication processes.
• Data Profiling & Analysis : Perform data profiling and analysis using IBM Information Analyzer to understand data structures, identify data quality issues, and support data governance initiatives.
• Metadata Management : Work with IBM Business Glossary and Metadata Workbench to manage metadata, define business terms, and ensure data lineage.
• Performance Tuning : Monitor the performance of Information Server jobs and components, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies for efficient data processing.
• Troubleshooting : Perform in-depth troubleshooting, debugging, and issue resolution for complex problems within the IBM Information Server environment, including job failures, performance degradation, and connectivity issues.
• Documentation : Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for Information Server jobs, ETL processes, data quality rules, metadata, and design specifications.
• Collaboration : Work closely with data architects, database administrators, business analysts, and other development teams to ensure seamless data integration and successful project delivery.
