Job Title : Piping Design Engineer

Job Location : TATA STEEL Kalinga Nagar

Salary : ₹50,000 – ₹70,000 per month

Education : B. Tech or M. Tech in Mechanical / Chemical Engineering (or equivalent)

Experience : Minimum 5 years in Piping Design Engineering

Job Summary : We are looking for a skilled Piping Design Engineer with a strong background in piping layout, isometric drawings, and 3D modeling industrial or process plants. The candidate will be responsible for designing efficient piping systems, coordinating with project teams, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.

• Key Responsibilities : Prepare and review piping layouts, GA drawings, and isometrics using AutoCAD / E3D / PDMS / SolidWorks / Plant 3D.
• Conduct pipe routing and support design based on process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
• Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and instrumentation teams to ensure design compatibility.
• Perform material take-off (MTO) and maintain BOQ documentation.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant standards such as ASME, ASTM, ANSI, API , and client specifications.
• Review and incorporate field and client feedback during design and execution phases.
• Support fabrication and erection teams with necessary design clarifications.
• Maintain documentation, revision control, and drawing standards.
• Required Skills & Competencies : Proficiency in AutoCAD , Plant 3D , or E3D / PDMS .
• Strong understanding of piping materials, supports, and stress considerations .
• Knowledge of P&ID interpretation and process flow understanding.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Preferred Qualifications : Experience in industrial, refinery, chemical, or steel plant projects .
• Knowledge of 3D modeling and clash checking .
• Familiarity with site and fabrication drawings .
