Position Summary
Mohan Babu University is seeking an accomplished, visionary, and dynamic academic leader for the position of Dean, School of Computing. The Dean will provide strategic direction, academic leadership, and operational management to advance the School's mission in teaching, research, innovation, and industry collaboration.
The ideal candidate will be a distinguished scholar with an outstanding record of academic achievement, a proven commitment to excellence in education, and the entrepreneurial drive to foster growth, innovation, and national recognition for the School of Computing.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership & Academic Excellence
- Provide visionary leadership in developing and implementing long-term strategic plans for the School of Computing.
- Drive academic innovation by overseeing the design, development, and accreditation of cutting-edge undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs.
- Foster a culture of academic excellence, integrity, and continuous improvement in teaching and learning methodologies.
- Monitor and evaluate academic and research programs to ensure they meet the highest standards.
2. Research, Innovation & Industry Connect
Champion a vibrant research culture, promoting high-impact publications, patents, and interdisciplinary research.Actively pursue and secure high-value funded projects from government agencies and corporate sponsors.Strengthen industry-academia partnerships to enhance consultancy projects, sponsored research, and student placement opportunities.Promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and the incubation of startups within the school.3. Administrative & Operational Management
Manage the academic, administrative, and financial affairs of the School efficiently.Lead faculty recruitment, mentoring, and performance appraisal, fostering a supportive environment for professional development.Mobilize and manage resources for institutional development, including laboratory modernization and infrastructure expansion.Ensure the effective guidance, counseling, and overall character development of students.4. Outreach & Resource Mobilization
Represent the School of Computing to external stakeholders, including industry, government, alumni, and the broader academic community.Develop projects for funding in R&D, infrastructure, and new initiatives.Promote the school's public profile through seminars, conferences, and public engagements.Qualifications & A Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related field.
A distinguished academic record with a minimum of 15 years of experience in teaching and research, with at least 5 years at the level of Professor.At least 3 years of significant administrative leadership experience as Head of Department, Director, or an equivalent role.A strong, sustained research record evidenced by high-quality publications in reputed international / national journals.Proven experience in guiding Ph.D. students and a robust post-Ph.D. research portfolio.A high-energy individual with impeccable integrity, strategic thinking, and exceptional interpersonal skills.Preferred :
Candidates with a B.E. / B.Tech. and M.E. / M.Tech. (1st Class) in a relevant discipline.Expertise in emerging areas such as AI / ML, Data Science, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, Blockchain, AR / VR, and Full-Stack Development.A demonstrated record of securing and managing high-value research grants and funded projects.Proven success in industry consultancy, patent generation, and fostering industry-institution collaboration.Experience in promoting startups, innovation, and entrepreneurship ecosystems.Desired Skillset & Competencies
