Senior Legal Manager

Job Summary :

Responsible for directing all legal, compliance, and regulatory affairs of the organization, supporting strategic decision-making and ensuring full adherence to applicable laws and corporate governance standards. This role holder will leverage deep industry and regulatory knowledge to build robust legal frameworks and compliance programs.

Key Responsibilities :

Serve as primary legal advisor to executive management and board, providing expert guidance on corporate, commercial, regulatory, and legal compliance matters.

Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive legal programs, ensuring the company adheres to statutory and regulatory requirements, including SEBI, Companies Act, LLP Act, FEMA, and other relevant laws.

Review and negotiate legal contracts and documents—including client / vendor agreements, employment contracts, real estate, M&A, JV, and fundraising documents. Direct the legal team to come up with robust standard drafts and build a mechanism to automate the agreement sharing and signing workflow.

Oversee and ensure timely statutory filings, regulatory submissions, and company secretarial obligations.

Lead and manage internal policies related to confidentiality, data protection, risk management, and ethical standards.

Guide and represent the company in dispute resolution, litigation and defence, including liaising with external counsels and regulatory authorities.

Build, lead, and mentor the legal team; oversee their development and workflow.

Collaborate with Finance, HR, and Business operations teams to maintain best practices across all functional areas from a legal and compliance perspective.

Represent the company in negotiations, regulatory forums, court proceedings, and key stakeholder interactions.

Qualifications and Skills :

Law degree (LL.B. from a reputed institution; LL.M. preferred

Minimum 11+ years’ experience in legal role, with strong hands-on experience in corporate law, compliance management, and in managing litigations with external support.

Demonstrated expertise in regulatory affairs, excellent negotiation, contract drafting, and communication skills

Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and ethical conduct in fast-paced business environment.
