Job description

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Legal Compliance & Public Affairs team at Marsh India Insurance Brokers Pvt Ltd. This role will be based in Mumbai. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Vice President / Assistant Vice President – Legal Compliance

The role will support the implementation and oversight of the organization’s compliance framework across multiple business units. The role involves ensuring adherence to internal policies, regulatory obligations, and ethical standards, while partnering with business teams to foster a culture of compliance and integrity. The incumbent will also be responsible for driving risk assessments, monitoring programs, regulatory reporting, and compliance training initiatives.

We will count on you to :

  • Assists a more senior Compliance role with the development of policies and procedures to meet regulatory requirements and changes in market conditions in area of responsibility
  • Implement and maintain the compliance framework, policies, and procedures in line with global and local regulatory requirements.
  • Handles complex specialized compliance routines, such as licensing, monitoring, research, training and awareness, data compilation and synopsis, report drafting, performance monitoring or assessment and task management for assigned area, country or geography.
  • Conduct regular reviews and monitoring of business activities to identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks.
  • Support periodic internal and external audits, regulatory inspections, and compliance testing programs.
  • Supports formulation of responses which may include responses to regulators and other supervisory entities.
  • Provide compliance advisory support to business functions on applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and emerging risks; update internal stakeholders on relevant changes and impact assessments.
  • Takes initiative in identifying Compliance initiatives and responds to questions from business colleagues on the application of Compliance programs. Advises colleagues on licensing issues and resolves licensing in jeopardy.
  • Liaise with other business teams to ensure consistent application of compliance standards.
  • Support due diligence processes for third-party vendors and business partners.

What you need to have :

  • 8–10 years of relevant experience in Compliance, preferably within a multinational or regulated financial services environment.
  • Prior exposure to regional or global compliance programs desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of industry processes and regulations.

  • CA / LLB preferable though not mandatory.
