Role Overview :
We are seeking a skilled
EM / IR Engineer
with a strong background in
Electromigration (EM)
and
IR drop analysis
to join our Physical Design team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring power integrity and reliability of advanced semiconductor designs across multiple technology nodes.
Key Responsibilities :
Perform
EM / IR analysis
using industry-standard tools (e.g., RedHawk, Voltus, Ansys Totem).
Collaborate with RTL, synthesis, and physical design teams to ensure power integrity throughout the design flow.
Analyze power grid robustness and identify potential reliability issues.
Work on
power planning ,
floorplanning , and
power grid optimization .
Debug and resolve EM / IR violations and provide recommendations for design improvements.
Generate and review reports for sign-off and ensure compliance with foundry requirements.
Support tape-out activities and work closely with foundry teams for final sign-off.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering or related field.
Minimum
4 years of hands-on experience
in EM / IR analysis.
Should be able to handle power grid development using tool automation and custom scripts
Should have handled SoC level EM / IR analysis (Static, Dynamic IR, power / signal EM) for SoC with power switches
Should be able to analyse, root-cause and fix IRdrop issues
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience with
advanced nodes (7nm, 5nm, etc.) .
Exposure to
low-power design techniques
and
multi-voltage domains .
Prior experience in
tape-out
and
foundry interaction .
