Job description

What you will do

  • Provide engineering support in well management (wellwork / well integrity / P&A) area to ExxonMobil global wells teams leveraging analysis and engineering insights
  • Work directly with Wells teams to provide design and / or operational support for safe and cost-effective operations
  • Generate plots and reports to communicate solutions and leverage ExxonMobil subject matter expert advice and company best practices to improve performance
  • Ensure all operations comply with internal standards and international regulations
  • Support well integrity assessments and remediation planning
  • Promote a strong safety culture across all activities
  • Identify and implement new technologies and tools to enhance wellwork efficiency
  • Collaborate with engineers and operations personnel on global asset teams
  • Integrate with adjacent disciplines – Production, facilities, reservoir & geoscience teams to provide synergistic solutions to global wells teams

About You

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree from a recognized university in petroleum, mechanical, chemical, civil, or electrical engineering with minimum GPA and above, Master’s Degree preferred
  • 2-10 years of work experience in the upstream oil and gas industry
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate critical design & operating parameters through data and trend analysis
  • Experience in writing procedures for Wellwork Operations (rigless and / or rig-based; coil tubing, slickline, wireline) execution is preferred not required
  • Field experience at a rig site or wellsite is preferred
  • Knowledge of the basic wells management engineering concepts including well intervention / wellwork, plug and abandonment, well integrity, well control (well barrier philosophy)
  • Familiarity with AFE (Authorization for Expenditure) and budget forecasts for wellwork activities
  • Familiarity with engineering applications such as Cerberus, WellView, WellCAT, Torque & Drag
  • Familiarity with Tableau or Power BI or Spotfire

    • Preferred Qualifications / Experience

  • Demonstrated ability to cooperate effectively in a team environment
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, with opportunities to leverage flexible work hours
  • Position is Bangalore-based with potential for international travel
