Job Summary :
The Blister Packing Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the blister packing machine for tablets, capsules, or other solid dosage forms as per GMP and SOP requirements. The role involves ensuring that products are packed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with all quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities :
- Operate, monitor, and control blister packing machines (such as CAM, Uhlmann, ACG, or equivalent models).
- Set up and change over machines for different product batches as per Batch Packing Record (BPR)
- Ensure that the correct batch coding, foil, and packaging material are used during operations.
- Check and verify the blister sealing quality, batch printing, and pack integrity at regular intervals.
- Maintain proper in-process checks (IPC) and record results accurately.
- Clean and maintain the blister machine, tools, and surrounding area according to SOPs and cGMP.
- Report any machine breakdowns, deviations, or quality issues immediately to the supervisor or engineering team.
- Follow and maintain strict adherence to GMP, GDP, and EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) guidelines.
- Ensure accurate documentation in BPR, logbooks, and equipment usage records.
- Coordinate with QA, maintenance, and other teams to ensure smooth line clearance and batch completion.
- Support continuous improvement and participate in training sessions for skill enhancement.
- Knowledge :
- Understanding of GMP, SOP, and documentation practices.
- Familiarity with machine operation, troubleshooting, and changeover procedures.
- Knowledge of different packaging materials (PVC, PVDC, Aluminum foil, etc.)
- Qualifications and Experience :
- Education : ITI / Diploma / B.Sc / B.Pharm or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
- Experience : Minimum 2–5 years of hands-on experience in blister packing operations within a formulation manufacturing unit (OSD).
